Venue

The Symposium will be held from June 24 to June 30 on board of a ship traveling along the longest river in Europe — the Volga, departing from Nizhny Novgorod and visiting old Russian cities of Kazan, Saratov and Samara where the Symposium will be closed. The Opening plenary session will be held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia's third largest city famous for its 16–17th-century Kremlin that stands along the steep bank of the Volga. Nizhny Novgorod is on UNESCO's list as one of 100 cities of the world of utmost cultural importance. Then the route of our comfortable cruiser Fyodor Shalyapin lies to the southward. We will make a stop in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, an example of religious tolerance and inter-confessional harmony with its impressive kremlin, old mosques and churches, one of the major economic and scientific centers of Russia, pass the city of Samara and proceed to Saratov with its 19th century neo-Gothic Conservatory, then make a U-turn and return to Samara with its beautiful national park of pine forests, stony steppes and misty meadows and gorgeous Samara Academic Drama Theatre.
