Proceedings
The Symposium Proceedings, containing extended abstracts of invited and contributed papers, will be traditionally published by the beginning of the Symposium. The Proceedings will be composed from authors' electronic files without any scientific or language editing. Only minor corrections may be done during the composition.
Before the publication, the copyright must be transferred to the Organizing Committee. Copyright transfer will take the effect from the date on which the author is notified of the inclusion of his (her) contribution in the Symposium Program.
Authors are requested to submit in due time a completed hard copy of the Assignment of Copyright Form. In case of multi-author papers, only one of the authors needs to sign the form. This signature assumes that all the authors have agreed to transfer the Copyright.
Submission of Papers
The length of the paper (together
with figures), prepared in accordance with the Symposium LaTeX style, must
not exceed 3 and 2 pages for invited and contributed papers, respectively.
The important deadlines are:
By February 15, 2012,
Authors are required to register and submit on-line:
- completed Personal data form
- PDF-file of the paper(papers) which will be used for the evaluation by the Program Committee
By March 19, 2012,
Authors of accepted contributions are required to submit on-line:
- compressed electronic file of the paper prepared in the Symposium style that should comprise a LaTeX file for text and graphic files for figures
- final PDF-file of the abstract with figures
Also, authors are required to submit a hard copy of the completed Assignment of Copyright Form to the following address:
Organizing Committee NANO 2012
St Petersburg Academic University
Nanotechnology Research and Education Centre of the RAS
Khlopina str. 8/3, St Petersburg, 194021, Russia
During the Proceedings compilation we will use electronic versions of your final PDF-files based on LaTeX source in order to avoid any misunderstandings.
The name of the principal author the person who has registered as a participant and will present the paper at the Symposium should be marked against the other authors.
For the papers to appear in the Proceedings it is necessary to follow this tight schedule. The Symposium Organizers and Editorial Group appreciate your understanding.
Symposium LaTeX Style
Read more
The Symposium LaTeX style (nano2cmr.sty), LaTeX template (template.tex and template.pdf), samples of the paper (sample.tex and sample.pdf) and two figures are included in the template.zip.
The template contains some useful examples and comments which will help an author to prepare the LaTeX source code of an abstract.
If anyone does not have necessary LaTeX environment for paper preparation, he(she) can display the LaTeX formatting of template.tex and sample.tex, opening corresponding PDF-files in
Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Putting together the control sequences (commands) from template.tex and appropriate places of the template printout, anyone can create a LaTeX source code for his or her own paper. Possible program errors, which may occur at LaTeX translation of an abstract, will be corrected during Proceedings composition.
Graphic Files
Read more
In preparing a graphic file, please, keep in mind that a printed illustration cannot exceed 86 mm in width and 160 mm in height. Lettering, line thickness
and other details should be adequate to maintain the acceptable size of the
final output: 810 points font size and 0.41.2 points line thickness are recommended.
Bold fonts for lettering should be used only in special symbol formatting (as vectors etc.). Color
images are unacceptable (yellow or lightblue line in diagrams will be unreadable in grayscale output).
In order to get the best results, graphic files have to meet
the following requirements:
- text included in an illustration should be saved as fonts, not as curves
- figure captions and numbers should not be included in graphic files
- if a figure consists of several parts (e.g. (a), (b), etc), the part designations should be included at an appropriate place of the figure
- gray-scale images included in EPS-file should be with 100150 dpi resolution
- gray-scale images should not be in RGB mode
- files should not include a TIFF or bitmap preview and should have a bounding box which encloses just a figure and not the whole page.

Along with the EPS-files, if it is possible, please send the native graphic files in the following formats:
- Adobe Illustrator
- AutoCAD (*.dxf)
- CorelDraw
- Grapher
- Microcal Origin
|
- SlideWriter
