The Ioffe Institute is one of Russia’s largest institutions for research in physics and technology with a wide variety of operating projects. It was founded in 1918 and run for several decades by Abram F. Ioffe. So it is quite natural that the Institute bears the name of this outstanding scholar and organizer.

Events

List of scientific meetings held or to be held under the aegis of the Ioffe Institute in 2009–2012, 2013–2016 and 2017–2018 includes such events as Symposium Nanostructures: Physics and Technology, International Conference Advanced Carbon NanoStructures and Winter School on Semiconductor Physics.
From October 29 to November 02, 2018 Ioffe Institute celebrates 100 years anniversary of its foundation. During this week the following events will take place:
  • International Multidisciplinary Conference "Frontiers of 21st Century Physics and Ioffe Institute" Oct. 29 – Nov. 01
  • Meeting of the Research Council dedicated to rewarding ceremony of the Ioffe Institute Honorary members elected in 2017 and hearing of their scientific presentations Nov. 01
  • Ceremonial Meeting of Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences dedicated to the 100-Year Anniversary of the Ioffe Institute Nov. 02

Publishing

The Ioffe Institute is a founder of the four physical journals: "Fizika Tverdogo Tela", "Fizika i Tekhnika Poluprovodnikov", Zhurnal Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki and Pis’ma v Zhurnal Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki. You have a possibility to access Electronic Version of the Journals.
